Socius Projects provided PM/QS services for this start up Client to realise their vision for their first restaurant venture.

THE BRIEF
Strip out existing cafe and refit as Pakistani eat in and take away offering including commercial kitchen and extract.

THE CHALLENGE
Shola was the first venue of its type so, as with every start up, budget was tight and the concept was very much unknown. The location was the ground floor of a 5 storey building and we had to take a commercial extraction system up to the roof level which came with its own logistical challenges. As a pedestrian venue, close communication with the centre management was vital.

THE SOLUTION
Collaborating closely with the Client and design team we could all understand what each element required in order to achieve what the Client wanted from an operational and aesthetic side of things, as well as understanding the logistics around the position of the restaurant and ensuring we put forward the right contractors for the Project.

THE RESULT
The design was incredibly striking and made a great impact as soon as it opened which is exactly what a new start business requires. The kitchen and front of house service works very well and the Client also has a great space to hold private cook offs and other functions so we achieved the multi-use unit they wanted.
