Client: THE LAUNDRY RESTAURANT, UK
Location: BRIXTON, LONDON
Designer: 3STORIES
Architect: N/A
Principle Contractor: BLUECROW PROJECTS

One of our favourite projects, providing PM/QS services to help turn this local historic landmark into a beautiful restaurant and private dining venue.

THE BRIEF
The space was a recently developed structure which kept an historical facade. We were engaged to transform the empty shell into a ground and lower ground floor restaurant complete with commercial kitchen.

THE CHALLENGE
A brand new concept which required some of the existing construction features to remain while transforming the area into a fully functional restaurant with all the benefits of being serviced with an up to date HVAC and M&E installation as well as a modern open kitchen but keeping its rustic edge which was crucial to the overall 'feel' of the space which was to be accentuated by the menu.

THE SOLUTION
Understanding the Client's brief was paramount, and working with the Designers and negotiated contractors assisting right from the start, we were able to understand concept, design and budget and amend as we went to ensure all followed in line with each other. Compromises were required on all sides but it was important that the crucial elements were adhered to and none of us lost focus on what the end product had to achieve.

THE RESULT
A very classy establishment with a certain edge which very much matched the Client's persona! It is a fantastic space which includes all of the non-negotiable important features highlighted at the start as well as an excellent finish to enable the client to open on the day she needed to. It required perseverance from all parties but the hard work paid off and the restaurant is doing very well indeed.
